How do you bring peace and security to a small country where every day more than 20 people are murdered? Claudia Paz y Paz, Guatemala’s first female Attorney General, is engaged in a struggle for justice in one of the most dangerous countries in the world.

Pay y Paz tackles corruption, drug gangs and impunity and does what everyone considered impossible: she brings former dictator, Efraín Ríos Montt, to trial. With this she writes world history, but opposition is rapidly growing…

The Dutch documentary makers Joey Boink and Sander Wirken follow Claudia Paz y Paz from her first day at the public prosecutor’s office in 2010 until her dismissal in 2014.

Before the film starts there will be an interview with the director of the film, Joey Boink. Boink has worked and lived in Guatemala before. He made the film together with Sander Wirken who is specialized in the genocide of Guatemala.

Please feel welcome to arrive early and enjoy a richly filled Picnic basket at the terrace (2 persons: €25,00) with e.g. bread, humus, tapenade, a fine selection of sausages or cheese, olives, nuts, crisps, mini brownies, a bottle of wine and a bottle of Earth Water. The Picnic basket can be ordered online along with your ticket. Also, the outdoor bar will be open prior to the film screenings. We serve cooled juices, soft drinks, wine, beer and small snacks.

This Summer the theme of the open air cinema at Het Nutshuis is ‘Rocket Cinema’. Guided by ambiance, tempo and tension DJ’s and musicians will create an original soundtrack through live music. For only €15,00 (normally €18,50) you buy a Combi-Ticket for open air screenings at Humanity House and Het Nutshuis. Combi-tickets are valid whole summer and for sale at the door of Nutshuis and Humanity House and online via www.nutshuis.nl
