Come to Movies that Matter and watch ‘This is Exile’, an extraordinary and intimate portrait of children who have fled Syria’s violent war and now live in refugee camps in neighbouring Lebanon. For a year, Emmy Award winner Mani Yassir Benchalah recorded the daily lives of the children, as they tell us how they are dealing with loss, hardship and broken dreams.
The Syrian war has entered its sixth year. The testimonies in ‘This is Exile: Diaries of Child Refugees’ are a confrontation with the ways in which the ongoing civil war is affecting millions of Syrian refugees, half of whom are children.
