Documentary film: Walls (IDFA 2015)

This film tells the true stories of people living on both sides of three very different walls. When the Berlin Wall fell we shelved the idea of separation walls as part of the past, but reality is the opposite.

Directors Pablo Iraburu and Migueltxo Molina show the fences, gates, barbed wire and barriers of the American-Mexican border, the Morrocan-Spanish border and the border between South Africa and Zimbabwe. The film tells the intimate stories of refugees, migrants, guards and citizens. Each with their individual take on the wall, together showing how the countless partitions all over the world form a universal problem.

The film is winner of the Oxfam Global Justice Award 2015, that was rewarded at the IDFA 2015 festival.
