Humans on the Move: debate & film fragments

The refugee crisis is still a daily news item. This debate, led by film fragments, focuses on the question whether all this attention also leads to a solution to the crisis. We also talk with Syrians in The Netherlands about how they contribute to a solution in their homeland – and how they and their co-activists try to keep up the spirit.

About the Speakers

Bram van Ojik (Special Envoy for Migration of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs), Leo Lucassen (Professor Global Labour and Migration History at the University of Leiden), Mohammad Abdulazez (Syrian photojournalist), Mohammed Badran (founder and volunteer of SYVNL (Syrian Volunteers in the Netherlands)).

Moderator is Els van Driel.

Fragments we screen are from the documentaries: My Aleppo, District Zero, This is Exile: Diaries of Child Refugees, Walls, Those Who Feel the Fire Burning en Lampedusa in Winter. Sprekers worden binnenkort bekend gemaakt.
