Immigration to Europe: The Refugee Story

Daily, we see images of refugees coming to Europe. Also in the Netherlands refugees arrive on a daily basis. Their reception leads to much discussion. In the framework of the Europe-month, the Jonge Democraten Leiden-Haaglanden (JD) wants to offer a stage to the people behind the news and to bring the stories of refugees closer to us.

Salim lives in an asylum center in the Netherlands. He will tell about his own experiences and answers questions of the audience. Also the people from the Dutch Council for Refugees and IOM-Netherlands will speak about the current situation for refugees in the Netherlands.

About the Speakers

Met Salim (refugee from Syria), Eva Koornstra (Project Coordinator International Organisation for Migration (IOM) Netherlands), Eline Kasanwidjojo en Lianne Belt (both Dutch Council for Refugees).
