During the ‘Nacht van de Vluchteling’ there will be a special outdoor film screening of the documentary At Home in the World. As the sunsets the documentary will start to play at Filmhuis Den Haag. After the screening there will be an opportunity to address issues raised by the film with a talk hosted by Iranian-Dutch programmer Bahram Sadeghi.
At Home in the World gives a unique insight into the lives of five refugee children during their first year in a Red Cross refugee school in Denmark. While everywhere in Europe young refugees face similar circumstances, ‘At Home in the World’ shows the importance of security, stability and education but it also provides an example of a way to care for the youngsters and help them find their way to a better future.
Danish spoken with English subtitles.
