Hanneke Propitius new director Humanity House

Starting on October 1st, Hanneke Propitius is the new director of Humanity House. Propitius is succeeding Lisette Mattaar, who has accepted a new position with vfonds after being director since 2010.

Hanneke Propitius has worked as interim manager and strategic advisor for the past eight years, for organisations such as Aids Fonds, MVO Nederland, and Doctors Without Borders. Previously, she worked as Manager Marketing, Communication & Fundraising with Cordaid. In this capacity Propitius successfully developed and implemented strategies for fundraising, branding and multi-annual planning.

Nora Stehouwer-van Iersel, Chairperson of the Board: ‘We are very happy to welcome Hanneke to the Humanity House. With her extensive experience in management positions, broad knowledge of marketing, fundraising and business development and a strong network we trust that Hanneke has everything it takes to further develop Humanity House.’

Propitius on her new position: ‘Humanity House is unique in how it manages to involve young people in the current issues surrounding conflict and war. It reaches and inspires over 22.000 students annually with an engaging educative program and a unique ‘journey of experience’. Through its focus on humanitarian issues, from personal stories to open-air cinema nights, Humanity House has taken an essential position in The Hague, the city of Peace and Justice. Together with the motivated team I will continue down the chosen path of cultural entrepreneurship and strengthen and broaden the cooperation with our partners.’
