Documentary filmmaker Håvard Bustnes set out to learn what exactly it is that makes people want to join Greece’s far-right Golden Dawn party. By interviewing three female members of the party, Bustnes tries to delve into their mindset and motives. With their son, father and husband imprisoned after committing violent acts in the name of their extremist convictions, the women are stepping up to play their roles in the party politics. The interviews illustrate how determined these three women are to control the narrative and their image; they avoid any slip of the tongue despite Bustnes’ critical questions. The resulting film is an intriguing document of frustrating tensions and political image-making.
