Tonight we discuss (the consequences of) the Turkey deal. We first watch the documentary The Deal, that focuses on the situation of refugees, volunteers and inhabitants living on the island of Lesbos. Then we talk with Gerald Knaus, architect of the deal, and Thea Hilhorst, professor of Humanitarian Aid & Reconstruction.
How do humanitarian organizations react to the consequences of the Turkey deal? Can they come up with alternatives? And are there conditions under which they can agree with the deal?
We invite the humanitarian sector to engage in a constructive discussion with Gerald Knaus and Thea Hilhorst on the possibilities for a limited, but humane migration policy.
