Photography

Donald Weber invites you to join him on a quest through the sand of Normandy, to find the historical truth and epic reality of World War II.

Photographer Donald Weber, writer Larry Frolick and physicist Kevin Robbie inch by inch explored the sand beaches where the D-Day invasion was once fought. At the Humanity House, Donald Weber presents and discusses this work. We'll talk with him and with researcher Zuzanna Dziuban about how violence has shaped the European landscape and our collective memory. With professor Jakob Wallinga we dive into the science behind the memory of sand. How can we use technique to trace back the history of landscap?
