PARTNER

The Red Cross

The Red Cross comes directly into action after a disaster. The first priority is to save lives! With more than 100 million volunteers worldwide, the Red Cross is always within reach. The Red Cross also restores contact between family members who have lost each other in chaos. The organization helps out of seven founding principles: humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity and universality.

Along with eighteen artists, the Red Cross wants to draw attention to children who are forgotten: the children in areas of conflict who are in danger of dying due to a lack of food.

On the album “Vergeten Liedjes voor Vergeten Kinderen” (Forgotten Songs for Forgotten Children) you can hear the styles of well-known and less well-known artists: the idiosyncratic numbers of the Flemish rock band Triggerfinger for example, or the dark voice sound in the acoustic songs of Fink. And The Scene, the band which, under the lead of singer-songwriter Thé Lau, managed to win the Netherlands over with its un-Dutch sound. Or the music of the 3FM Serious Talent Award 2014-winner Jett Rebel who cannot be pegged with one label.

National and international fame
Eighteen artists donated their time to work together on “Vergeten Liedjes voor Vergeten Kinderen”. Not the least amongst them: Ilse DeLange & JB Meijers seized their own unique spot on the international stages. Racoon, the rock band from Zeeland, won many awards in their homeland, including two 3FM Awards this spring. Nor does Bløf need an introduction: after 22 year of making music, the band from Zeeland earned the Edison Oeuvre Prize 2014 for their complete repertoire.  With contributions from A Balladeer, De Staat, Go Back to the Zoo, Greg Holden, Janne Schra, Marike Jager, Milow, Niels Geusebroek, Kovacs, Tessa Rose Jackson and White Lies, this album is more than complete.
