Humanity House lecture series underway!

PARTNER

The MuseumJeugdUniversiteit (Youth University Museum)

The MuseumJeugdUniversiteit was established in 2009 by the Rijksmuseum van Oudheden (The Dutch National Museum of Antiquities), in cooperation with the Leiden University. The MuseumJeugdUniversiteit works together with the VSC _ netwerk, a network of scientific museums and science centres and Kidsweek and is supported by Shell Netherlands.

Various museums in the Netherlands organise a series of lectures each half year, especially geared toward children from 8 to 12 years old. The lectures are an hour long and always have a fun, silly, extraordinary or exciting topic that is related to the collection of the museum.

The speakers are scientific employees of the museum, scholars from the academic world or specialists in the field of expertise. These are inspiring people who are incredibly knowledgeable about their subject! You also get the chance during the lectures to ask them anything and everything. At the first class you will receive a lecture card which will be stamped at each lecture. If you get enough stamps, you will earn a diploma at the end of the series.

In 2015, a lecture series is also starting at Humanity House. The first lecture is on Sunday February 1st and the topic is children’s rights: what rights do children actually have? The other two lectures can be attended on March 1st and May 3rd.
