Only a very small percentage of Syrian refugees comes to Europe. Most remain in neighbouring countries like Lebanon and Jordon.  Who are they and how do they live there?

Rasha (7) and Sara (11) have lived in an apartment with their father in Jordan since 2013. They fled from the violence in their native country Syria. ‘We are only born once and you can only die once’, says Ahmad, Rasha and Sara’s father. He knows like no other. A bullet grazed his oldest daughter’s head.

‘I have almost been hit by bullets three times myself. I have seen people murdered in front of my eyes. I should have been dead, but I am still alive.’ Ahmad wants a safe future for his daughters. ‘I am willing to make the hazardous journey to Europe, if that means I can offer the chance at a better life to Rasha and Sara.’
