Cordaid

“The world is on fire!” Simone Filippini, Cordaid’s CEO, is not afraid to speak up about how she feels and delivers an emotional speech. At her TEDx talk, she calls for a worldwide response to bad leadership, because she is “sick and tired of cleaning up the mess that those so-called world leaders are leaving behind for us.” Want to know what she suggests to do?

According to Filippini, there is a complete lack of accountability when it comes to world leaders. “They don’t think about the common good and their responsibility as leaders.”

But we can make a difference, if we all speak up like she does: “We have to empower ourselves. We have to demand change. We have to step up to the plate, together, as a team. 7 billion of us. And we have to demand accountability of those world leaders. Because 2015 is a defining year. We have to make heard to those world leaders out there, that they cannot get away with their non-performance unnoticed. When the going gets tough, the tough get going. And that’s us.”

Want to participate in calling for the world leaders to take action against global problems such as conflict, lawlessness and inequality? Then tweet a photo of yourself to hashtag #WWWY2015. World leaders, we’re watching you!
