In Iraaks Koerdistan verblijven bijna 1 miljoen ontheemden. de meesten zijn Yesidi’s uit het Sinjar gebergte, maar er zijn ook christelijke ontheemden en moslims. In het ziekenhuis van Semeel is tekort aan medicijnen en draaien doktoren overuren om patienten te behandelen. Stichting Vluchteling ondersteunt dit ziekenhuis.
