Abduction, torture, persecution, threats and extrajudicial killings have instilled fear in many after an attempted coup, aimed at stopping president Pierre Nkurunziza from standing for an unconstitutional third term in office, was suppressed. Over 20,000 Burundians have entered DRC since the crisis began. Most of them are hosted in Lusenda refugee camp but Lusenda and the transit camps at the border are overstretched.
