Spectacular history lesson about 70 years of liberation
In 2015, the Netherlands celebrates 70 years of liberation. Freedom not automatically granted. We gained our freedom in the Second World War thanks to many soldiers from  several countries who fought on June 6, 1944.  Even at this moment, there are many soldiers fighting for freedom. That is why, from February 10, 2015 until the end of the summer vacation, the film D-Day, Normandy 1944 can exclusively be seen in Omniversum in The Hague. Additionally Omniversum is offering  teaching materials; to make this exciting history lesson complete and as simple as possible for you.

IMAX film portrays D-Day and the ‘Battle of Normandy’ in a unique way by using CGI, animation and live action. The key factors that led to victory serve as a connecting thread throughout the film. The extraordinary manner of narration won the writer –  also director and producer – various prizes including: ‘Best Film for Lifelong Learning’ and ‘Best Visual Effects’.

More information about D-Day, Normandy 1944 and an amazing animation in which the liberation of the Netherlands is visualized in time.
