“Our world, our dignity, our future” is the slogan of the European Year of Development 2015. The European Union sees her development policy as an essential instrument to foster her role in the world. It is a cornerstone of EU relations with the outside world. Therefore, not only solidarity, but also security issues and economic opportunities are taken into account. How has the European development policy changed over the years?
