Refugees, who needs them?

The United Nations named June 20 World Refugees Day. Around the world the life and destiny of refugees will get attention. The Humanity House shows the documentary ‘Refugees: Who needs them?’.

From Libya to Amersfoort, from Bhutan to Venlo

As the debate on immigration rages across the Netherlands and Europe, the Dutch government invites some refugees in. Five of these invited refugees wonder if the continent that reluctantly accepted them is actually involved in creating the conditions that made them flee in the first place. Refugees: Who Needs Them? is an entertaining, often humorous and ultimately moving film experience on new arrivals from Libya, Ethiopia, China and Bhutan. Are these refugees a danger to our Western culture or, on the contrary, do we need them real bad?

The Foundation for Refugee Students UAF

The Foundation for Refugee Students UAF provides financial and other support to 3.000 more highly educated refugees and asylum seekers every year with their studies and with finding appropriate work. UAU screens the documentary Refugees: Who Needs Them? in the Humanity House as part of World Refugee Day 2013.
