How do aid beneficiaries and aid workers see themselves and each other, as this is assumed to have an influence on what the beneficiaries genuinely need and expect; the legitimacy of aid. According to Thea Hilhorst mutual images and relations are important in the legitimacy of aid. She illustrates this on the basis of recent studies into women organizations in Eastern-Congo. She also will connect this on the theme of her new book Everyday politics of crisis response.
