Exposition Sjećam Se: I Remember

In the small exhibition Sjećam Se (I remember) Bosnian-Dutch youth share their personal memories. Twenty years after the war has ended, they show how they remember their motherland. What is their vision on remembering the war and Bosnia And Herzegovina? As children, they fled the war to the Netherlands and they grew up with different images related to their own history. In this photo exhibition they share their personal story on Bosnia then and now.

About the makers

This project is part of a research project by Laura Boerhout (PhD University of Amsterdam) in coproduction with photographer Claudia Heinermann. Claudia is an expert on long-term observational documentary projects with an emphasis on 20th century historical topics and the consequences of war.
Characteristic for her work are controversial issues that she captures in unique ways.  www.claudiaheinermann.nl
